About me

I began my professional career with a degree in Costume Design, spending seven years as a costumier for film and television working on many productions. After a successful career in costume I decided to take my knowledge from costume design and turn it towards gardening where colour, shape and texture play a crucial role in a cohesive landscape and harmonious outdoor space.

I turned to gardening as a means of earning a living during the pandemic,  this unexpected detour soon became a new and fulfilling carrer journey. My gardening journey took root at Berkeley Castle, where I initially volunteered before being recruited as a part-time gardener.

In 2022, I graduated from The Cotswold Gardening School as the top student with a Distinction in the Professional Garden Design One Year Diploma. Today, I run Becky Box Landscape Design, bringing my expertise and passion to each project while also working part-time at Berkeley Castle Gardens under the mentorship of Head Gardener, Chris Gill.

My Philosophy

I have always found joy in exploring both public and private gardens, particularly on open days like those organized by the National Garden Scheme (NGS) in my local town. The personal touch and unique character of each garden, reflecting the love and care of its owner, has always inspired me. This passion drives my approach to landscape design, where I aim to help clients create spaces that are not only beautiful and functional but also supportive of wildlife and biodiversity.

I advocate for a naturalistic and soft approach, preferring to enhance and preserve the existing features of a garden rather than extensive reconstruction. My goal is to inject bursts of color and creativity through carefully chosen plants and innovative use of landscaping materials, enhancing my clients' enjoyment of their outdoor spaces. By harnessing the potential of the garden's existing features, I strive to retain its soul and character, ensuring that the beauty and uniqueness of each space are preserved and elevated.
